About us

We have met in Biel/Bienne where we all live.
We love children and, what a cliché  but true, we all have a child hidden within us!

Dafni was missing a friend to play with, and she invited Nono. Nono invited Lukas, Lukas invited Ilaria and Jonas has been there from the beginning to observe and accompagny.

We love playing and...
We admire children, their simple curiosity, their particular and precise way to be in this human world, made for adults.

How would the world be if it would be made for children?
We ask sometimes.
How are the things made?
What is hidden behind what we see?
How can we just be like the children?
Curious, precise and wide open!

In Ballaladum we are called to explore and we invite the children to follow and guide us to this exploration.

What do we do besides Ballaladum?

Dafni likes to organise meetings with wonderful dancers and musicians on the dance floor. She has a real flair for bringing beautiful people together!

She loves the group spirit and is always happy to be part of. What she finds fascinating about dancing is that through it, she discovered a very special way to understand and be in the world.

She has danced with different compagnies in Athens, Brussels and Amsterdam. Nowaday she teaches improvisation and creative dance to children and adults. She works with Ninh in France, her collective in Athens and goes around the town of Biel/Bienne with her bicycle and her son.

In the summer you will find her on-board or on an isolated bay somewhere in the Aegean.

Lukas plays the double bass and other instruments in the music bands The Rich Mans Kitchen Orchestra and Karacan Kombo.
He also composes music for children's theatre plays, like for the Herbsttheater für Kinder des Spielplatz am Schützenweg Bern and for Nour from Lupine Figurentheater.

He likes to make wood constructions for theatre, private houses and to renovate old wooden furnitures. He also likes the circus and has been once musician and performer for Circolino Pipistrello. I have also seen him acting in a theatre play, on a yellow bus.

On stage he has adopted his own unique style!

Nono is a nature lover and free spirit, dance and voice artist. She practices the voice work of the Roy Hart Theatre and she wants to share a good energy with the world through her practice.

She plays the ukulele and she teaches music. She has danced in different productions and she has created the dance company  Trop cher to share together with Nina Willimans. She is working on a community-based project with the aim to bring different artists together to work and exchange at the foot of the mountain.

When she sings there is something deeply female and natural coming our of her, round and warm!

Jonas likes to travel around the globe with his music, and to play with other musicians and different artists. He also likes to invite his friends from all over the world to play with him in Biel/Bienne. Some of his friends in music making are Michel, Axel, Hans, Irena, Joke, Jacques and Gaudenz.

He likes to be involved in projects with a social dimension. He likes freedom as he likes structures. He practices free improvisation with his students at the University of Arts Bern and elsewhere. He also composes music for theatre, dance and ensembles. He runs a structure named Bruit but he likes the silence.

He plays the accordion as no one I know!
